Chocolate And Hazelnut Tarts
If you know me, you'll know that I'm a huge fan of 'The Great British Bakeoff'. I just cant get enough of Mel, Sue, Paul, Mary and cake!

I'm such a sucker for cookery books (especially books that involve cakes and desserts). Because of this I had to buy Jo Wheatley's (last years Bakeoff winner) book 'A Passion For Baking'. I decided it was time to try making one of her delicious recipes and I plumped for the Hazelnut And Chocolate Tart.

This particular recipe appealed to me for two reasons; number one, it contains chocolate and number two, it contains hazelnuts, a winning combination in my mind. Jo's recipe makes one large tart that serves 8 people, as I don't own a large tart tin, I decided to make four small tarts. In hindsight this was a bad idea as they're far too big for one person. The advantage of making one large tart means you can slice off any size portion, which is good when you're trying not to be too naughty!

Making the chocolate filling was the easiest part of this recipe, just melting together all the chocolate, cream and hazelnut spread. The pastry on the other hand required all my pastry know how, which isn't much. However, using Jo's Sweet-Crust Pastry recipe I did, just about manage it.

These tarts have everything I look for in a dessert, they're decadent, delicious, bad for you and leave me feeling full of chocolate (which I like).
Thanks for reading. Faye xx
